Sensory Jewellery
Weston super Mare Youth ClubSensory Jewellery Fun at Weston super Mare Youth Club!
We had a fantastic time getting creative at Weston Youth Club with a sensory jewellery-making session full of colour, conversation, and connection.
It was a pleasure to welcome Abbi Lee from Oojamabobs, who led the session with warmth, clarity, and encouragement. Abbi brought along a fantastic variety of beads in different shapes and sizes, ensuring everyone could participate regardless of ability. Her supportive approach made the experience truly inclusive for all.
Our young people enthusiastically engaged in the activity, designing their own unique pieces of sensory jewellery. Threading beads and exploring textures, they developed fine motor skills, concentration, and focus—all while having fun and expressing their creativity.
The craft table became a lively hub of chatter and laughter, as ideas flowed and friendships blossomed. One touching moment saw a young person gift the necklace they made to another group member—a beautiful example of the kindness and thoughtfulness we often see in our club.
With the jewellery complete and proudly packed to take home, we turned up the energy with a round of team games, mixing in some of our all-time favourites with a few new additions to keep everyone moving and smiling.
As the session ended, we gathered for a check-out circle. Young people reflected on the evening, sharing their pride in what they’d created and the fun they had along the way. Staff and volunteers were equally proud—not just of the brilliant jewellery but also of the positive attitudes, listening skills, and genuine care shown by everyone involved.
It was a fantastic session celebrating creativity, connection, and community, and we can’t wait for the next one!
