Easter Fun
Weston super Mare Youth ClubWe had an Eggs’tra special time at Weston-super-Mare Youth Club this Tuesday
The energy was buzzing, the creativity flowing, and the Easter vibes were in full swing!
Kicking off the session, we got hands-on with Makaton, learning the signs for Easter, eggs, and, of course, chocolate! As always during our ‘check-in’ time, we used signs to help build communication skills and make sure everyone felt included. We also explored emotion cards, sparking great conversations about how we feel, what we like (or don’t!), and what we dream of for the future.
Then it was time to get crafty! Young people created their own Easter bonnets, decorating them with bright flowers, quirky decals, and plenty of personality. It wasn’t just about the decorations—it was about choice, self-expression, and building creativity and motor skills while having a blast.
Our Easter Parade was a showstopper, filled with music, funky moves, and loads of laughter as we danced around the room, proudly showing off those amazing bonnets to the sound of ‘Easter Parade’.
As usual, the young people led the way with games, developing new ideas and putting their spin on favourites. We bounced balloons with pool noodles, raced around during a mega game of ‘Duck, Duck, Goose’ using the parachute, and finished the night with smiles, movement, and a lot of goose-like running!
It was a cracking session — creative, expressive, inclusive, and full of joyful chaos.
